Go-karts part 3

The karts are almost finished so it was time for a few test runs in the car park. Some of them needed a few alterations but they should be ready for next week.

Go-karts part 2

This week we took all the stuff we found at the tip and a few bits of wood and tried to make it all into go-karts.

Australia night

Last week the Scouts did some Australia-themed creative work...making boomerangs and bullroarers (parents might remember Crocodile Dundee using one).

There were some very creative boomerang designs inspired by traditional patterns but some were a bit more up-to-date.

We tried out the boomerangs in the nearby field with limited success...but the bullroarers worked well.

DIY bird boxes

Back in November, Tim came in to show us how to build bird boxes and after a couple of very noisy sessions we had eleven of cosy-looking boxes ready for nesting season.

Then in February we went out to Donaldson Park to put some of the boxes up. There are also boxes going up in Fintry, Gartmore and Drymen. We'll be checking them out later on to see if anyone moves in.
